The NWB procedure

  • Anglers will be asked to record their full day on the water with the help of any recording device ( Go Pro works really well ) and Yolotek makes the greatest cam stick to hold your camera and gives it power all day, then you add a high capacity sd card and their you go your set up and ready to go;
  • Anglers will also be asked to weigh the fish using a ConnectScale connected to the app, this will enable anglers to log in their catch to the live leaderboard;
  • Anglers will take two pictures of their catch with their phone one on their phone gallery and the other on the Connect app when you’re scaling your catch. The pictures on the phone gallery will have to be sent to the tournament director( when sending pictures make sure you see the time and date on the pictures )if you finish the event in the top 10. Pictures will be uploaded to social media for all the competitors to see;
  • If any angler finishes the event in the top 10 anglers will need to send the unedited dated and time stamp part of the video where he/she caught his fish hookset to fish release,(release in livewell will be permitted to tournament anglers ) you don’t send your whole day of fishing only send the segment where you caught the fish. Usually, when you put your sd card in your computer the files are all broken down into 10 min files, send us only that one file. ( in the event that fish catch is caught between two files Extra files may be requested by the tournament director to validate your catch). This file will be used to confirm and verify your catch and then uploaded on youtube for all the competitors to see;
  • Fish from anywhere the division allows you to and follow this procedure to successfully verify your catch to collect your prize;
  • This new format of competitive fishing gives anglers flexibility in where they want to fish, target any big fish hot spots and see if they can catch the biggest bass at a national level. Canada division anglers will be allowed to fish anywhere legal by law within their division limits. USA will be split into two divisions – Northern and Southern, and anglers will be allowed to fish anywhere legal by law within these divisions. International Walleye division anglers will be allowed to fish anywhere legal by law within this division;
  • All entries are individuals, all prizes will be awarded to individual anglers not as teams. Multiple anglers may fish at the same time on camera/boat;
  • Anglers must register for weekly events (buy-in 35.00$+taxes/fees per event + annual membership 10.00$+taxes/fees) to be eligible for payouts;
  • Events always last two days ( half an hour after sunrise to half an hour before sunset on Saturday and Sunday );
  • Payouts will be given weekly to the top 10 of every division;
  • Payouts will be based on participation.
  • Video has to have original time and date;
  • Video cannot be edited in any way from hook set to release of the fish;
  • If a video is found to have been edited between hookset to release, anglers will be disqualified and banned FOREVER;
  • Once the hook is set you have to land the fish, weigh the fish with the ConnectScale, make sure that you see the weight and the tail of the fish when the scale beeps on the video then take a nice picture with your phone then you release the fish immediately still under the video  (we need to see the fish swim away or see you put it back in the water or livewell if you’re in a tournament).  Please take good care of the fish and take time to put it in the water while doing the procedure (in between scaling and pictures). Once the fish swims away, you’re done.
  • That’s the portion of video + picture that has to be submitted to the tournament director if you’re in the top 10 to verify your catch;
  • Once verified and approved the video will be uploaded on the Nationwide Bassmania YouTube channel;
  • It is your responsibility to email your video/pic to the tournament director by the video/pic cut-off time (5 pm Monday, one day after the tournament is over, but no fishing may occur on that day) and prizes will be awarded once verification is completed;
  • Video + pictures of the top 10 will be emailed to;
  • All videos/pic from any bass division will be sent to: [email protected]
  • All videos/pic from the walleye division will be sent to: nationwidewalleyemania@gmail.com
  • In case of no mobile reception: the ConnectScale will record your weights on your phone and will be uploaded when the data is back. Take extra care when weighing in your fish to show the weight on camera with the tail of the fish showing in a frame (that will save us a lot of trouble in validating the video and weight);
  • Deep fish need extra care fizzing is mandatory to preserve the life of the fish and fish should be fizzed before proceeding to the scaling of the fish (fizz the fish immediately after you have caught it) this applies for any fish caught deeper than 20  feet +- deep and may vary, please be careful when fishing in 40 +- feet range or deeper as this is where barothrama is at it’s worst, you may have only a couple of minutes to save your catch (this mostly applies to deep smallmouth bass).
